What does Extract pages do?
Extract pages copies selected pages from one PDF into a new PDF. Use page-range input or thumbnail selection. Selected page appearance and selected page order are kept. Links and bookmarks to omitted pages, and document-level navigation, may not work in the extracted file. Selected pages must exist in the source. One PDF is accepted per task.
How to use Extract pages
- 1Choose one PDF
Open Extract pages and select a single PDF. Unlock it first if a password is required.
- 2Select the pages to keep
Enter a page-range input or use thumbnail selection. Every selected page must exist in the source.
- 3Export a new PDF
Only the selected pages are written, in the selected page order. The original document stays on disk.
- 4Review the extract
Download and check that the new file contains only the intended pages. Features that depended on omitted pages may be missing.

When not to use this tool
Do not use Extract pages to drop pages from the original while keeping the rest in the same file — that is Delete pages. It also does not split each page into its own file; use Split PDF for a ZIP of parts.
If processing fails
Ranges that point past the last page are rejected. Encrypted or damaged files must be unlocked or repaired first. If no page is selected, add a valid range before exporting.
Privacy boundary
The source PDF is read locally. Only the extracted output is offered for download. PDF Smart Kit does not upload the document to an application server.
